Position Overview
The Channel Manager oversees meeting the company's sales and profit goals by managing both indirect and direct sales channels. This person builds, maintains, and strengthens relationships with sales channels to achieve performance targets while promoting the company's products and services.
Channel Manager Job Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets and strategic goals by using both indirect and direct sales channels.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with distributors and the sales team.
- Lead the planning process to set joint performance goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), financial targets, and important milestones for successful sales channel partnerships.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in sales channels and apply effective strategies to address them.
- Regularly check and confirm the needs of the sales channels.
- Communicate clearly and often with sales channels to keep them engaged and motivated.
- Analyze competitors and provide market insights based on competitor activity, product feedback, and sales findings.
- Report regularly to the supervisor on channel performance and suggest improvements or solutions to challenges as needed.
- Be eager to learn about new products and services to create effective sales strategies.
- Actively seek out and recruit new qualified distributor leads.
Channel Manager Education/Certification/Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- More than 5 years of experience in channel or distribution sales and management
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and presentation skills
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to travel within the US 25% Domestic travel
- Self-starter who can work well in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Salary: $80,000 to $120,000 per year, plus bonuses.
