The Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of lymphoma, histiocytosis, and Castleman's Disease. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching hematology/oncology fellows, medical residents, and medical students. Additionally, the successful applicant will be expected to provide education, mentorship, and research support to hematology/oncology fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include care of patients with lymphoma, Histiocytosis, and Castleman's Disease in an outpatient setting and as an attending on the inpatient service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). Clinical care will also include evaluating patients for autologous stem cell transplantation and other cellular therapies.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include the ability of the selected candidate to develop and grow an independent research program in translational malignant hematology. The selected candidate will also develop ongoing clinical and research programs for Castleman's disease, working closely with the Castleman's Disease Collaborative Network in the recruitment of patients, both for clinical information and biobanking. The candidate will create a framework for clinical and translational research in histiocytic disorders. Evidence of scholarship is required on the clinician educator track. The successful candidate will have an established record of independent funding, high impact publications, and a strong national/international reputation. There will be an expectation of high-quality research, which leads to scholarship.
There will be an expectation of the ability of the selected candidate to provide management and/or leadership. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
