Position Purpose:The Building Operations and Security Assistant supports the Head of Building Operations and Security in the day-to-day operations of the Hood Museum of Art. The Building Operations and Security Assistant's responsibilities will include processing and tracking work orders and incident reports, maintaining lines of communication with and escorting campus partners to facilitate repairs to the buildings, and acting as backup to the Head of Buildings Operations and Security. In rotation with the Head of Building Operations and Security, the Building Operations and Security Assistant will be the after-hours on-call point of contact for all museum-related emergencies.
This is a 3-year term position.

Description:Facilities Maintenance - Assists in scheduling and facilitating maintenance of the Hood Museum's buildings, spaces, and grounds: create and track work orders and escort campus partners and contractors while work is conducted in secure spaces. Coordinates with custodial services to help maintain a high level of facility cleanliness. Attends museum events as assigned to assist in setup, breakdown, and security.

Description:Building Communications - Assists in creating and editing museum safety and security procedures and staff training materials in conjunction with the Head of Building Operations and Security and other museum departments. Assists in drafting all-staff bulletins to update the staff on facilities-related topics.

Description:Security Operations - Enforces museum policies in all museum spaces to ensure the security of the collection, staff, and visitors. Reports incidents, inconsistencies, or damages immediately. Acts as an after-hours on-call in rotation with the Head of Buildings Operations and Security.
