JOB DESCRIPTION

The Board Operator ISBL's primary responsibility is to ensure all Distributed Control System (DCS) controlled by RGLNG ISBL sections are operated safely and efficiently, within defined operational and integrity limits specified in the Master Alarm Data Base (MADB). The Board Operator will monitor DCS parameters and anticipate deviations in accordance with RGLNG Operation Management System (OMS) standards, as well as execute safe startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures while assisting maintenance and other support groups for optimal facility reliability, availability, and utilization.

The Board Operator will interact directly with a large group of stakeholders from various asset disciplines (Maintenance, Engineers, HSSE, C&P), contractors, and vendors, necessitating the completion of leadership, HSSE, and soft skills-specific training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with ISBL operators, including guiding them on critical tasks and being attentive to the their observations and comments. Work seamlessly with other Board operators (OSBL and other trains operators), to maintain smooth control of the entire complex.
  • Drive day-to-day compliance with RGLNG Ensure Safe Production (ESP) requirements within the UCR and proactively monitor all plant equipment to quickly identify changes to equipment health, and communicate changes and concerns to the Control Room Supervisors.
  • Conduct all approved process/equipment adjustments within design parameters to mitigate threats or potential loss of production, or to optimize operating parameters to increase overall plant efficacy. Escalate information to the Control Room Supervisors, if there are constraints to carry out theses adjustments.

  • Adhere to schedule for plant start-up and shut-down activities taking into consideration maintenance work, equipment availability and overall safety and create quality work orders (WO), including being active in the review and amendment of WO's where necessary.
  • Review all start-up, normal operating, and maintenance safe operating procedures and other related documents including work instructions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Make recommendations for changes where applicable, Work closely with Engineering, Day operation, and optimization team in alarm management and optimization of plant operations.
  • Ensure proper and rigorous use of HSSE risk assessments and operational processes to preserve the integrity, safety, security, and operability of RGLNG 's process systems and assets.
  • Monitors all ISBL plant operating parameters (Front end, and liquefications units) on the DCS to identify potential opportunities for improvement, risks or issues associated with process deviations, and equipment defects or abnormalities in order to rectify promptly.
  • Coordinate operation activities with third parties for delivery of power, feed gas, and LNG/Condensate loading activities.
  • Perform duties as required by the Emergency Response Team according to the Emergency Response Plan including participating in emergency response drills and training.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team diagnosing and troubleshooting process and maintenance related issues including developing and following all lessons learned issued by RGLNG.
  • May require travelling for meetings and/or training.
  • Work rotating twelve (12) hour shift system, including night shift, weekends, and holidays required. With respect to the RGLNG fatigue management procedure, you may be required to work longer hours on occasion due to plant requirements such as commissioning, start-up/shutdown, and turnaround activities.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Board operator qualified for the LNG liquefaction process at a large-scale LNG facility
  • 5 years' production operations experience at a large-scale LNG facility
  • Ability to get a Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
  • Time Management and effective communication skills
  • Adaptability to manage changes in work environment in regards adhering to updated deadlines or unexpected delays.
  • Computer literate including proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Requirements:
  • 2 years board operator experience at a large-scale LNG facility that utilizes APCI-C3/MR technology.
  • 5 years' production operations experience at a large-scale LNG facility that utilizes APCI-C3/MR technology.
  • Experience in LNG control room operations during startup and commissioning at a large-scale LNG facility.

Work Environment & Physical Demands with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Operates in a complex construction environment.
  • Work is performed both in control room environment, with computers including DCS, and in the field in sometimes challenging weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear all mandatory/necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods.
