Job Summary

This position oversees and directs the strategic initiatives, partnerships, and policies related to the recruitment of transfer students and the application of transfer credit, with a particular focus on Ivy Tech Community College (especially the Indianapolis campus) and statewide transfer credit articulation.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides highest level of operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to admissions and recruitment methodologies and standards.
  • Leads the establishment of short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines and deliverables and developing resource plans.
  • Develops recruitment initiatives targeting all students not coming directly from high school, including transfers, adult students, working professionals, returning students, former students with some college and no degree, etc.
  • Makes budget recommendations for operational and recruitment budgets.
  • Collaborates with the IU Indy Center for Transfer and Adult Students (CTAS) to coordinate yield efforts for newly admitted transfer students.
  • Coordinates evolution of transfer credit needs and opportunities with the Division of Enrollment Management, the Division of Undergraduate Education, faculty, and other stakeholders.
  • Supervises the flow of credit transfer and application (of credit).
  • Coordinates the awarding and distribution of transfer credit at the 100/200 level with the Admissions Operations team.
  • Coordinates transfer credit workflow with Admissions Operations on faculty review and application of transfer credit at the 300/400 level.
  • Maintains and updates existing articulation agreements including 2+2 programs.
  • Coordinates new articulation agreements with faculty as opportunities arise.
  • Serves as the campus representative for the Core Transfer Library (CTL), collaborating with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education on behalf of IU Indianapolis.
  • Oversees the Passport agreement between Ivy Tech and IU Indianapolis, serving as liaison between leadership at Ivy Tech and IU Indianapolis.
  • Monitors execution of pathways between Ivy Tech and IU Indianapolis, including Passport, Guaranteed Admissions, Dual Admissions, reverse transfer, etc.
  • Prepares management reports and summaries for senior administration.
  • Acts as an advisor to executive committees.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides highest level of operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to define admissions and recruitment methodologies and standards; provides direction and guidance on high priority admissions and recruitment projects/initiatives.
  • Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines/deliverables and developing resource plans for multi-project/multi-phase admissions and recruitment initiatives.
  • Conducts a variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to hiring, promotion, performance management, and dismissal.
  • Manages high level assignments and allocation of admissions and recruitment resources, including negotiating and coordinating initiatives that involve staff in other departments/areas/teams; may coordinate large-scale admissions and recruitment projects with a wide audiences in support of academic initiatives.
  • Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry admissions and recruitment standards, technologies, policies, and procedures; responsible for the implementation of new protocols/procedures to address business needs.
  • Works collaboratively with other admissions and recruitment leaders across departments in recommending standards, best practices, and related policies/procedures.
  • Prepares management reports and summaries for senior administration, executive, steering and advisory committees; acts as advisor to executive committees; serves on various university committees, communities of practice, and task forces related to admissions and recruitment.

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 4 years in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business, or related field
  • 1 year of management experience in relevant field

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. $70,000 - $80,000 annually based on experience
