Assistant Director of Safety Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the telematics administrator and analyst.
  • Conduct daily reviews of camera footage for compliance-related issues.
  • Ensure all cameras are operational, properly positioned, and unobstructed.
  • Communicate with drivers to address and resolve identified concerns.
• Prepare and distribute weekly reports monitoring driver safety and compliance metrics.
• Support the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of safety performance standards, policies, and procedures.
• Evaluate safety protocols and policies, conducting periodic reviews to recommend updates in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Attend administrative and staff meetings, participating in discussions and contributing to organizational objectives.
• Oversee training programs and review driver logs for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, copying, and faxing as needed.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-10 years of experience in a safety-focused role within a transportation environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
