SUMMARY

The Assembly Operator Lead will oversee and coordinate the activities of assembly operators to ensure efficient and effective assembly operations. The lead will manage the assembly process, assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to meet production targets and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to motivate and support team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Oversees daily cell(s) assembly operation.
* Works with Production Control to develop production schedules.
* Responsible for achieving required output and reporting progress daily.
* Maintains high efficiency and quality in assembly to meet production goals.
* Performs some in-process inspection to reduce the occurrence of errors and the cost of scrap before adding value through subsequent operations.
* Monitors assembler trainees regularly to help develop skills and techniques and improve productivity and quality.
* Advises supervisor routinely on training needs or production problems so that proper action can be taken.
* Records quantity, locations, and status of rework and scrap by router instructions throughout the assembly process for quality traceability.
* Accurately and timely reports production results, including scrap and rework, and summarizes daily assembly activity for evaluation by the department supervisor.
* Ensures continuous production activity is maintained and assists with production problems.
* Identifies and resolves routine cell assembly problems and refers complex situations to the supervisor for evaluation and resolution.
* Calculates the usage of materials to anticipate needs and to maintain continuous cell assembly operations with minimal interruptions and wait time.
* Uses Lean tools to drive productivity improvements (task time, cell balancing, visual controls, pull system, one-piece flow, etc.).

SALARY INFORMATION

According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $19.67 and $22.00 hourly. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

* A high school diploma or equivalent; a higher degree from a technical school, vocational training, or certification in assembly operations or a related field is a plus.
* 2+ years of related experience.
* Experience in working in a lean cell environment is preferred.
* Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* IPC, J-STD-001.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Conversational in any other language is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

* Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

JOB SKILLS

* Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite.
* Knowledge of ERP systems and SAP preferred.
* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
* Ability to perform problem-solving.
* Demonstrated practical leadership skills, understanding and promoting company objectives, and acting as a role model.
* Ability to work in teams with diverse groups of people.
* Must be able to review, analyze, and decide regarding the integrity of products produced to standards stated in documentation such as but not limited to drawings, specifications, PIs, MIs, WIs, checklists, etc., and process/sign-off "affirm" your peer's quality and quality.
* Ability to analyze and evaluate processes, procedures, and quality.
* Meets or exceeds the core values as described in the employee handbook.
* Willingness to learn, change & contribute to a team environment.
* Demonstrates excellent quality practices.
* Ability to track and record jobs and to use known priorities to ensure on-time completion of tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
* Protective clothing or equipment is required, and it may include steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, eye protection, and other PPE as required.
