Job Title:Applied Research Engineer 1Department:Engineering | Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Applied Research Engineer 1 in the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) reports to Professor Shawn Midlam-Mohler, and assists in CAR's research objectives to study, evaluate, and design the next generation of wood burning stove emissions reduction and efficiency improvement systems. Collaborates and assists on research on modeling, optimization, and control, both model-based and data-driven, of advanced systems; helps in preparing and presenting papers/reports; writes, assists in editing and/or approving progress and technical reports for sponsors; assists in editing research results for publication and presentation; assists in identifying, writing, and preparing proposals to pursue new funding opportunities; collaborates in planning and coordinating meetings with governmental and industrial partners. The research will be part of an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative team, working on multiple research projects with students, CAR-affiliated faculty, and senior research staff.

Required: Bachelor's Level Degree Major: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Desired: Master's Degree or equivalent Major: Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

Required: 1-3 years of experience in research lab setting performing/assisting in mechanical engineering projects

The target hiring range for this job profile is $25.87- $34.47. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc
