RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client in Upper Marlboro, MD is looking to add an AP Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity to join a growing nonprofit with a great mission!Daily duties include:- AP Staff Accountant will assist with the full Accounts and Grants Payable cycle for the organization
- Processing and data entry of all grants and bills in the accounting system with appropriate GL coding
- Review of documentation supporting payments to be processed in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assist in preparing weekly and special payments runs in an accurate and timely manner
- Update and maintain AP data in accounting systems
- Assist with quarterly expense accruals
- As an AP Staff Accountant, you will monitor and review outstanding accounts payable on a weekly basis
- Interface with vendors and staff with questions, concerns, or information requests
- Maintain 1099 vendor information
- Ad hoc requests related to Accounting and Finance
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently to meet multiple deadlines
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
