Purpose of Position:The CNU College of Social Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in the following areas in Spring 2024 and beyond:
Communication
- Public Speaking
- Argumentation
- Media Studies
Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of graduate coursework in communication or a closely related field. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. Candidates for hire are required to complete a CNU sponsored background check.
The Department of Communication at Christopher Newport University is composed of 13 full-time faculty. The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts program, as well as a minor in Communication. A position in this growing, collaborative department has a great deal to offer a teacher scholar committed to a life of the mind and excellence in teaching.
