Job Summary:
Everest Global Services, Inc., a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd., is currently seeking an Actuary in the reserving unit for the Everest Insurance portfolio. This position will perform Data and automation initiatives, quarterly performance monitoring, as well as reserve analyses. Location can be in New Jersey, New York, or Philadelphia.
This position will work with the data within the Everest Insurance specialty property & casualty (P&C) portfolio. It will focus on developing dashboards and automated data flows and work processes. It will also collaborate with Pricing Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, and Financial Services. This position may supervise junior actuaries.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote in either our New York City, Warren, NJ or Philadelphia office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Spearhead development of BI reports and dashboards to communicate findings to management and other key stakeholders.
- Revitalize our reserving processes with automated models using either Python or R.
- Maintenance and support of the above automation processes, which produce the quarterly exhibits for quarterly reserve meetings or results of the annual reserve studies.
- Identify solutions for integrating data from various sources for efficient data management and analysis.
- Recommend areas of improvement to further streamline and automate existing actuarial data flows and work processes.
- Providing guidance to our consulting and development teams to ensure adherence to best practices across all our insurance transformation initiatives.
- Work in partnership with Finance, Pricing Actuarial, and Claims to identify areas of improvement within our collaborative efforts.
- Perform annual reserve reviews on Everest Insurance business. Prepare presentation material and communicate findings to management and other key stakeholders.
- Adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley process and procedures.
Work Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience - reserving experience is a plus.
- Strong programming languages such as Python, SQL and/or R or proven proficiency in learning programming languages.
- Experience with project management and process redesign approaches is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills. Excel VBA experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Power BI. ResQ experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized, focused and detail oriented.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
For NYC Only:The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
