Horizon Farm Credit is actively seeking an Accountant to join our team. Qualified candidate may work in the Westminster, MD or Mechanicsburg, PA branch location. Our ideal candidate is an experienced, analytical individual with strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and flexible to a changing work environment.
POSITION SUMMARY: In this position, you will perform a wide range of complex accounting tasks to support the Financial Reporting process and the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) process. You will be responsible for the preparation and oversight of internal and external required financial reports in compliance with regulatory agencies. Financial Reporting function includes financial statements, Board reporting, internal management reporting, as well as compliance with external regulators. You will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of Association internal ICFR program and assist with control audits. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of transactions to various systems and other duties as delegated. You will identify and make recommendations for enhancements which improve processing efficiencies. You will function under minimal supervision and will often provide guidance and training to accountants/staff.
