Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:JOB SUMMARY:The Academia and Health Services Research Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at Texas Southern University offers postdoctoral PharmD or allied health professional (e.g., Ph.D. nursing, counseling, clinical psychology) the foundational scientific and career development training necessary for a successful career in academia and health services research. This is a two-year fellowship program. The fellow will receive research training and individualized one-on-one research mentoring, supported by a multidisciplinary team of investigators with social, behavioral, public health, and clinical expertise in minority health and health disparity research. This is a full-time research training experience that includes opportunities to conduct clinical, social, and/or behavioral research using community-based participatory methods. The ideal candidate for this position will be an individual who completed the Doctor of Pharmacy or a doctoral allied health professional (e.g. nursing, counseling, clinical psychology) program with a desire to pursue academia career. The objectives of the fellowship are to train the fellow to become an independent investigator pursuing an academic position (e.g. Assistant Professor).
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:The Postdoctoral Fellow is a specialized healthcare professional train in clinical practice, health service research, and academia. The Postdoctoral Fellow is a highly collaborative, self-motivated, creative person who is adaptable to new processes with capacity to function independently. The Postdoctoral Fellow is interested in community-engagement research practices and evidence-based clinical practice.

Education:Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent allied health doctoral degree from an accredited institution with active license in the state of Texas in good standing or able to acquire licensure within 90 days after employment.
